Sound and Light Show 2023: Discover the Drones at the Pont du Gard

The Pont du Gard is preparing to host two new and enchanting sound and light shows this summer 2023. One show features artificial intelligence in the form of drones that interact with the monument and the biodiversity of the Gorges du Gardon. The other show, conceived by Groupe F, invites spectators to become aware of the beauty and fragility of our planet.

The first show,"Les merveilles du vivant" (The Wonders of Life), which will be held from June 17 to September 17, 2023, on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 10:30 pm, features a ballet of 50 luminous drones interacting with the flora and fauna of the Gorges du Gardon. The monument and the sky of the Pont du Gard site are entirely taken over by the drones and the video content to offer a 3-dimensional experience. The soundtrack, written by Scott Gibbons, is synchronized by GPS clock to the ballet of the drones.

The second show, entitled"Our Ship", is proposed by Groupe F and highlights the fragility and beauty of the Earth through an ecological fable. This visual poem unveils the whole of the living world, its insects, plants and bioluminescent beings, as well as the minerals and crystals that wrap the arches of the bridge in choreographed sequences. It will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 22:30.

While waiting for the beginning of the shows, a lighting of the monument "against the clock" is proposed on the right bank, offering a new vision of the details and the architecture of the Pont du Gard thanks to innovative video projections that recreate the cycle of the sun and the moon.
