Nestled in the picturesque town of Dinard in Ille-et-Vilaine, between Mont Saint-Michel and Cap Fréhel, the Emeria thalasso hotel is ideally located just over 2 hours from Paris by TGV via Saint-Malo, and 4h30 by car (except in the event of traffic jams)! The hotel boasts an absolutely fantastic location in the exclusive Dinard area.
Emeria, formerly a traditional thalassotherapy establishment, has undergone an impressive metamorphosis following its recent renovation. The ambitious project, launched in October 2023 and completed in April 2024, aimed to create "the most beautiful thalasso in France". Under the direction of Bruno Vilt, the hotel has been totally redesigned to offer a modern, elegant setting, incorporating an innovative new marine course and top-of-the-range facilities such as heated seawater pools and relaxation areas with breathtakingocean views.
The 4-star hotel offers 167 luxuriously appointed rooms, reflecting a chalet atmosphere with a contemporary touch. Each room offers a spectacular view, whether of the sea and/or the hotel's tranquil garden. Families with children will particularly appreciate being able to frolic in the huge gardens, even if the play area (including table soccer) was closed after the renovations (too bad)!
Emeria also stands out for its gastronomic offering, with two restaurants serving local specialties and fresh ingredients, as well as an enlarged bar where guests can relax while gazing at thesea horizon. Rates remain affordable for such a well-located 4-star establishment, and the menu features an emphasis on seafood (including oysters... at breakfast during our test)!
The spa and thalasso institute extends over 2800 m² and is equipped with the latest technologies in health and wellness treatments. Treatments are specially designed to promote relaxation and revitalization, using the natural benefits ofseawater. With completely renewed spaces and state-of-the-art equipment, Emeria offers a unique experience that combines thalassotherapy tradition and innovation. Children will love the heated outdoor pool, while parents will appreciate the deckchairs available everywhere, whether for a massage in the water (yes, deckchairs in the water!), or for quietly reading a book in the sumptuous grounds.
Committed to an ecological approach, Emeria incorporates sustainable solutions such as heat pumps and plans to install geothermal energy to minimize its environmental impact. It's a testament to Emeria's commitment to responsible, conscious luxury, which we're delighted to see.
Dinard, with its sandy beaches and coastal paths, offers a magnificent setting for outdoor escapades. Nearby, iconic sites such as Saint-Malo and Mont Saint-Michel enrich visitors' experience, allowing them to immerse themselves in Breton history and culture. Saint-Briac offers a superb golf course nearby, and gamblers will appreciate (in moderation) the many casinos in the area. Special mention must be made of the sea excursions and the discovery of Dinard's extraordinary listed dwellings, inherited from the English presence in the region.
Emeria Dinard represents the revival of thalassotherapy in France, offering a perfect fusion of luxury, well-being and respect for the environment. Its transformation into a first-class establishment on the Emerald Coast makes it a must-see destination for those seeking to recharge their batteries in exceptional, luxurious surroundings. Is it the best Thalasso in France? A few details remain to be perfected, such as the restaurant, where service can be heard closing the kitchen 30 minutes before the end (just as customers are arriving), but let's not deny ourselves pleasure: Emeria Dinard is in its infancy, and the overall experience remains exceptional.
